The coordination team quickly came together to create the Online program. In the context of this program, 30 workshops were developped. Finally, because of the continuing pandemy, the 2020 edition of Ikaartuit program was also cancelled. |
2020-2021
Activities carried out in the 14 communities and development of services for the Nurrait, Tuttuit and Ikaartuit programs. For the first time, the 14 communities of Nunavik were able to get a personalized activity, due to the health restrictions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. In total, 10 expeditions and 4 spring break activities will have taken place on the territory during the school year. A new initiation component of the Nurrait program was also created in order to offer third-cycle elementary students the opportunity to learn the basics of outdoor activities. The Tuttuit program took a significant step forward by offering participants four personal development workshops as well as an expedition on the territory to develop their leadership skills. The first outing of this program took place in June 2021, a canoe-camping expedition on the Koksoak River. For the Ikaartuit program, the service offer has been developed by offering activities on both coasts of Nunavik so that more youth can take part in our activities. A 10-day sea kayaking program was offered in Kuujjuaq and Umiujaq. In addition, another component was set up: a socio-professional integration internship. This training internship trained participants in carpentry by introducing them to the construction of a cabin in the outdoors. In total, 279 young Nunavummiut participated in our activities and expeditions this year, in winter and summer. As you can read, nothing stopped the participants, the volunteers and the coordination team during this pandemic year. |
